My name is Jackie Burgett, and I’m an IBCLC-certified Lactation Consultant. I have a passion for breastfeeding education and I love to help moms succeed in meeting their breastfeeding goals. Before I started Jackie’s Breast Friends, I worked as a postpartum/maternity RN with Intermountain Healthcare for 14 years. During this time, I also worked as a breastfeeding specialist and I had the opportunity to provide breastfeeding education to new moms.
I am currently not employed or affiliated with any hospitals, as my focus is on helping moms to feel confident as they breastfeed in their own homes.
I work in partnership with my husband, Dr. A. Douglas Burgett, MD, who practices as an OB/GYN in the South end of the Salt Lake Valley. Together we have six daughters, one son, and three grandsons. I had great experiences breastfeeding my two biological daughters, and pumping milk for my son, who was born with a cleft lip/palate. I’ve also been able to support both my daughter and step-daughter in successfully breastfeeding their own babies, which is a great excuse to spend more time with my grandsons!
In my spare time, I love to travel with my husband, cheer for the Utes, and spend time with our three Labradors.
